Application Options

High School Summer College has two enrollment options: Residential and Commuting programs. On the application, students will be asked to choose between these programs. The Horizon Scholars option is an additional application for those who are eligible.

Choose Your Enrollment Option

Residential Option

This program option is for students who want to live on Stanford’s campus during the Summer Quarter as part of a planned and supervised residential community. Admission to this program option is on a rolling basis and it fills each year with a wait list.

International students who require a Stanford-sponsored I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant F-1 Student Status), should complete their application by March 31, 2017 to allow ample time to obtain their F-1 Student Visa.

Commuting Option

This program option is for students who want to commute to Stanford’s campus during the Summer Quarter. The deadline to complete an existing application is May 15, 2017.

International students who will not live on campus but who require a Stanford-sponsored I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant F-1 Student Status) must complete their acceptance checklist by March 31, 2017.

Stanford Horizon Scholars Option

Students who meet the Horizon Scholars eligibility requirements must complete the High School Summer College online application designated for Horizon Scholars. Applications must be completed by March 1, 2017.

Admission Decision

All student applicants will be notified via email when they have fully completed the application process, submitted all required academic documentation, and moved on to the review stage. Applicants will receive their admission decision approximately three weeks after receiving their completion email. For those student applicants who apply for financial aid, both the admission decision and the financial aid award will be available at the same time.
