Stanford High School Summer College is an extraordinary program for high-achieving, high school students from across the United States and around the world. Students have access to more than 145 courses in 30 departments on Stanford’s campus. Taking courses alongside Stanford students and visiting grads and undergrads, High School Summer College students build their schedule to deepen their academic knowledge about a specific subject-area or to gain exposure to a new area of interest.
A dedicated program staff of House Directors, Activities Directors, and Mentors organize a variety of optional programs and trips around the Bay area designed to complement students’ academic work. Students also have access to the Summer Academic Resource Center, comprised of dedicated tutors and academic advisors, throughout the summer (sarc.stanford.edu).
Year after year, our students write to tell us that their time at Summer College transformed their lives. Some students explain how they developed confidence by taking rigorous college classes and living independently on a residential campus. Others say they found new areas of interest that helped determine a field of study in college and beyond. Many students forged friendships with classmates and mentor staff that have remained strong and vibrant for years. We hope you’ll use this summer to experience what Stanford has to offer!
